Look
I want to leave politics behind as much as you do - especially during this holiday season. A holiday season that is either a slight relief or a major vibe shift in the culture, depending on whether you’ve been paying attention.
But what’s lingering is that although we are indeed at a unique time in American (yes and world) history, on the verge of AI and self-driving cars, we in the ‘states currently have many friends and family members that are still believing the lie that half the country is racist just for not voting blue.
Earth to Democrats —No.
My 83 year old sweet mother is not racist
just because she voted Republican.
Mom had an idea
To give gift bags of cookies to our local Tuesday night bike club - and I thought a sticker added to the bag would make it more than just a cookie. Mom said “let’s invite everyone to Christmas Eve service.”
So we did.
We bought 250 bags and I ordered 250 stickers.
Our little church stepped up in a big way - three women baked over 400 cookies - and the leader of the bike ride (above) rolled up in the rickshaw and drove mom and I around last Tuesday night until all the bags of cookies were gone.
Mom had a smile the entire evening and slept SO soundly that night. She handed bags to all ages, all ethnicities, and all classes.
Why? Because she loves people and she wants EVERYONE to experience the love and transformation she has received from her faith in Jesus.
She’s not racist.
She doesn’t support misogyny.
She agrees Trump’s language is crude and often worse.
In fact she doesn’t fit ANY of the bs characteristics that (sadly) the DNC and the legacy media want us to believe about our fellow Americans.
Mom like many, voted for a better direction for the country,
and against Democrats who pretended Joe was fine.
That’s it.
It shouldn’t even have to be explained but here’s the simplest points if you’re still confused as to why people who dislike Trump voted for him:
America shifts between left and right every eight years, Covid notwithstanding.
The savior worship of Obama is/ was not normal, ie we’re not electing a king -many Americans don’t look to the President for ALL of their values or morality.
The Democratic candidate was in fact installed, not receiving a single primary vote.
Joe Biden we now are allowed to say - was NOT cogent for all or most of his presidency.
All I want for Christmas
Is healing.
Reconciliation.
What about you?
If you’re normal I’m guessing you’ll also answer yes.
If you have success stories of healing or reconciliation I want to hear them.
Thanks
For reading my inconsistent postings, I’ve been busy relaunching my bmx bike brand, traveling for Christmas parties (above), and making sure mom is safe and happy.
So far I’m three for three.
I’ll leave you for the year and only add that if you haven’t yet read David Samuels’ great piece at Tablet - please do.
Here’s to a beautiful 2025 - yep for everyone.
Peace out
-A
